Trisha Cowie, working hard for you in Parry Sound–Muskoka

Trisha is a devoted community leader, volunteer, and mother with a proven commitment to making life better for families here in Parry Sound—Muskoka.

Trisha comes from a large family of 8 and was fortunate enough to spend her childhood living and exploring different parts of Canada. She would frequent Parry Sound-Muskoka as a child for family vacations, and after graduating from law school it became time to put down roots, to raise her son, and build her career. Trisha knew Parry Sound-Muskoka would be her home. Today, Trisha lives in Port Carling with her 11 year-old son, Ronan. She also owns and operates her own law firm, Cowie Law, in Bala.

Trisha is a member of Hiawatha First Nation and has dedicated her education and much of her career to advocating for Indigenous people and organizations. Trisha now practices in real estate, family, and criminal law. She proudly provides pro bono legal services to veterans, and to victims of domestic violence.

Trisha is a dedicated community leader and contributes her time to help build an inclusive and vibrant community, a place where her son will thrive. Trisha has joined countless community organizations for causes she holds near and dear to her heart, including fundraising for the Manna Food Bank and the Port Carling Curling Club, volunteering and donating to groups such as the Muskoka Lakes Soccer Club, YWCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters and many more.

Trisha promotes and advances reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in the riding through regular guest speaking engagements about the Truth and Reconciliation recommendations. She encourages our youth to get involved in politics by engaging them in programs that teach them about our political system. Trisha also seeks to empower youth through education. In 2016, Trisha travelled to Cameroon on a humanitarian expedition with an organization called International Children’s Awareness to provide children, particularly young women, with educational opportunities in their home communities.

As our next Member of Parliament, Trisha will be a strong champion for our community and will never stop working hard for everyone who calls Parry Sound—Muskoka our home.

Forward: A real plan for a strong middle class
